In conjunction with the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Children’s Hospital, the Derry Township Police Department, Hershey Fire Department, and Life Lion EMS would like to invite agencies to join us for the 3rd Annual “Light Up the Night” to lift the spirits of the patients and staff of the HMC Children’s Hospital and Main Hospital in Hershey, Pennsylvania The sole purpose of this event is for us, as first responders to give back to the HMC community and raise spirits.
On Tuesday, March 12th, beginning at 6 pm, we are asking agencies to bring your emergency equipment to the Hershey Medical Center and be part of a procession of approximately 200 emergency vehicles as we conduct a slow-moving procession on the Hershey Medical Center campus with our emergency lights activated to show support and lift the spirits of the patients, visitors, and staff of HMC. Staging will begin at 6 pm, with the procession moving promptly at 7:15 pm. In the event of inclement weather, the back up date will be Tuesday, March 19th beginning at 6 pm.
We are asking for ONE PERSON from each agency to register and get on our email list so we can keep everyone up to date and included in the planning process. By signing up, this does NOT commit you to attend; we are just trying to reach out to any agencies that want to be a part of this special event. We will also be looking for donations to get some items for the kids in the near future. Please email Todd Leiss at [email protected] or Jen Layman at [email protected] with any questions.
